Mesothlioma - Important Information for Vets

Widely used by every military branch, asbestos was highly regarded for its heat resistance and fireproofing capabilities. In fact, asbestos was so valued that the military even mandated widespread usage before eventually phasing out the material in the 1970s. Exposure to asbestos has proven to result in a wide range of health conditions, including mesothelioma, a deadly cancer that attacks the lining of the lungs, heart or abdomen. More than 30 percent of Americans beset with mesothelioma were exposed to asbestos during military service. Asbestos.com offers information on mesothelioma treatment options, as well as a complete list of occupations, ships, and shipyards that could have put our Veterans at risk for developing a mesothelioma disease. Additionally their Veterans Assistance Department offers extensive experience in filing VA claims and can help any veteran coping with mesothelioma receive benefits from the VA system.
For more information please visit asbestos.com where they have specific information for Veterans.

There is also some excellent information on Mesothelioma at Mesothelioma.com, as well as good descriptions of the locations of asbestos where all branches of our Military may have been exposed. You can also get a free information packet on Mesothelioma.

Another very valuable resource on Mesothelioma can be found at Mesothelioma Prognosis where you can also obtain a free information package as well as good information about Veterans who were in contact with asbestos.
