Signs of PCP Abuse

PCP is a white powder with a bitter taste, and is available as tablets or powder. It is a psychedelic drug, and is classed as a dissociative anesthetic. Because of this, it can block pain giving the user a higher pain threshold. It can be snorted, smoked or taken orally. When smoked it is used as a dip for marijuana or cigarettes. I can also be absorbed through the skin. Effects can be felt in as little as five minutes and last about 6 hours or large doses can last 24 hours or more.

Symptoms of abuse:

  • Pupils are normal
  • Rise in blood pressure
  • Rise in body temp
  • Rise in pulse rate
  • Hallucinations
  • Euphoria
  • Loss of coordination
  • Sweating
  • Disorientation

High Doses

  • Drop in blood pressure
  • Nausea/vomiting
  • Blurred vision
  • Drooling
  • Violence
  • Severe psychological effects
  • Seizures
  • Coma

Special Dangers.

  • Taken with alcohol can lead to coma, delusions/hallucinations and memory loss.
